A woven counterpoint to monumental architecture.

Atlantis The Royal is recognised for its extraordinary scale, but its outdoor experience also depends on much smaller encounters: a seat by the water, a place to gather and a comfortable setting from which to watch the light change over Palm Jumeirah. Kohn Pedersen Fox’s stacked architectural volumes establish the resort’s silhouette; the furniture gives individual spaces a more immediate, human character.

NextSpace contributed outdoor products across the property, working with Atlantis management, the Investment Corporation of Dubai client team and purchasing consultant Cairncross Martin. A particularly distinctive part of the reference is Seascapes, where NextSpace supplied DEDON’s DALA collection, designed by Stephen Burks.

DALA’s woven surfaces offer a tactile contrast to the resort’s monumental architecture. At Seascapes, that contrast suits a beach-bar setting centred on relaxed conversation and sunset views. It is a specific example of why outdoor hospitality furniture is more than a finishing layer: the right collection can give a venue its own atmosphere while allowing it to remain part of a much larger destination.
