Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea
Outdoor living shaped by the fall of the land.
Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea takes its character from the relationship between architecture, water and level. Inspired by the idea of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the resort unfolds through stone terraces, pools and gardens towards the Dead Sea. Rather than concentrating the outdoor experience in one place, the design allows it to emerge through a sequence of settings.
NextSpace contributed outdoor hospitality furniture to the resort. The reference sits within a property whose architectural and landscape concept, developed by Hospitality Design Architects, makes the exterior fundamental to the experience of staying there.
Changing levels give the outdoor spaces different degrees of enclosure and outlook, creating a sense of discovery as guests move through the grounds. Furniture is encountered within this larger progression, offering places to stop rather than interrupting the movement of the landscape. At Ishtar, the boundary between building, garden and leisure space is deliberately fluid, with the Dead Sea remaining the constant point of orientation.
