The St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort brings a distinctly Moroccan character to the Mediterranean coast at Tamuda Bay. Smallwood’s architecture and interiors draw on the intimacy of the riad, translating inward-looking courtyards into a resort that also opens towards the sea. References to the blue of nearby Chefchaouen give the setting a more local identity than a conventional white beachfront hotel.

NextSpace supplied outdoor hospitality furniture for the resort, working with Mirage. Developed by Eagle Hills and operated under Marriott International’s St. Regis brand, the property places outdoor living at the meeting point of landscape, architecture and service.

Riad-inspired courtyards encourage a quieter, more enclosed experience; sea-facing settings invite longer views and a different pace. Outdoor furniture belongs to both, giving guests places to pause while retaining the contrast between them. NextSpace’s contribution forms part of this movement from sheltered courtyard to Mediterranean coast, within a resort whose identity is rooted in the culture of northern Morocco.
