Rodolfo Dordoni (1954 to 2023) was an Italian architect and designer whose Milanese practice shaped some of the most recognizable languages in contemporary furniture. A graduate of the Politecnico di Milano, he spent decades serving as art director and product designer for leading Italian brands, building a body of work defined by quiet elegance, rigorous proportions, and a deep respect for materials and craftsmanship.

For Roda, Dordoni created a long and influential series of outdoor collections that brought domestic warmth and architectural clarity to exterior living. Piper is one of his most complete programmes, a vast family of seating, sunloungers, and tables built around honest materials such as powder coated aluminium, robust belts, and Batyline, capable of furnishing every moment of outdoor life with a composed and refined aesthetic.
