ME Dubai at The Opus
A softer scale within a fluid architectural landmark.
At The Opus, the most recognisable architectural feature is an absence: an eight-storey void carved through the building’s apparent cube. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects for OMNIYAT, the project houses ME Dubai, bringing the practice’s fluid architectural language into the hotel’s interiors as well as its exterior form.
NextSpace supplied DEDON outdoor furniture and Umbrosa shade solutions, working with OMNIYAT. Within a property whose identity is so closely tied to design, the outdoor pieces form part of a continuous experience rather than a separate decorative layer.
From the city, The Opus reads as a sculptural object. At guest level, furniture and shade turn that architectural setting into somewhere to spend time. Woven surfaces and defined umbrella structures introduce a more tactile register alongside the building’s flowing lines, giving the outdoor spaces their own character within Zaha Hadid Architects’ continuous architectural and interior world.
