Bhaca Small

Andile Dyalvane is one of Africa’s most original and renowned ceramicists, known for creating deeply expressive works rooted in isiXhosa cultural traditions. His designs explore themes of identity, heritage, and ritual, translating traditional practices into contemporary forms through clay and sculptural techniques.

The Bhaca collection reflects Andile’s connection to his cultural roots, inspired by the tradition of scarification. By translating these intricate markings into large-scale planters, the collection brings a powerful narrative of identity, healing, and belonging into architectural design.
