Matteo Thun, an architect and designer, was born and raised in the bilingual German and Italian-speaking region of South Tyrol, Italy. After studying under Oskar Kokoschka and Emilio Vedova at the Salzburg Academy, he earned his degree in Architecture from the University of Florence. In 1981, he co-founded the 'Memphis' group in Milan with Ettore Sottsass, and in 1984, he opened his own studio in Milan. In 2001, he established Matteo Thun & Partners, a studio dedicated to designs that are inspired by timeless simplicity and focused on the human scale.

The studio is made up of a team of 70 interdisciplinary architects, interior designers, product designers, and graphic designers. Matteo Thun works across both small and large-scale projects, focusing on the management of complex designs. His work prioritizes aesthetic durability, technological longevity, and the long-term sustainability of buildings and products. At the heart of his designs is a deep respect for the essence of a project and a sensitive approach to each clien individuality.

Specializing in hospitality, with a focus on luxury hotels and distinctive residences, Matteo Thun offers customized and turnkey solutions, encompassing architecture, interiors, and lighting. His designs reflect an ongoing dialogue between the client, the location, its inhabitants, and its culture, creating spaces that are both functional and timeless.

Benedetto Fasciana, Associate Director at Matteo Thun & Partners, brings a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and proportion to his architectural and design work. A graduate in architecture from the University of Ferrara, Benedetto developed his expertise in interior and product design through his background in ceramic art and experience creating retail and exhibition spaces for global brands during his tenure as Art Director at White Design in Venice.

Since joining Matteo Thun & Partners in 2014, Benedetto has played a key role in the creation of iconic furniture and lighting solutions, reflecting his passion for artisanal craftsmanship and aligning with the studio values of simplicity, functionality, and timeless design.
