Designed by Sebastian Herkner, the Ambient Line Small Glass Lantern pairs a Meteor powder coated aluminium frame with a grey reeded glass shade. Its clean, architectural lines and softly textured glass bring a quietly sophisticated glow to tables, ledges, and intimate corners of the terrace.

An integral solar and mains rechargeable LED unit offers eight light settings through a radio frequency remote that works from up to 35m away, so the mood is always within reach. With around eight hours of light on a full charge, the Line carries the evening from dusk into the night. Meet The Designer

Sebastian Herkner

Born in 1981, Sebastian Herkner studied product design at the Offenbach University of Art and Design (HfG Offenbach), where he became fascinated by the way objects can bring together different materials, cultures, and crafts. During his studies he interned with the fashion designer Stella McCartney in London, an experience that sharpened his feel for texture, colour, and detail. In 2006 he opened his own studio in Offenbach am Main, Germany.

Herkner is known for combining new technologies with traditional craftsmanship to reveal the many sided beauty of materials. His Bell Table for ClassiCon, introduced in 2012, is now regarded as a modern classic, and his work has been recognised with honours including the German Design Award. Today his studio designs furniture, lighting, and objects for leading international brands, always with a focus on honest materials, quiet elegance, and pieces made to last.
